Ortz

Elsie J. Ortz, 91, of Cabot, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022.

She was born in South Buffalo Township on May 22, 1931, and was a daughter of the late Ruth (Shields) and John Rusz.

She was the widow of Robert E. Ortz, who passed away in 1991.

She was a past member of Srader Grove Presbyterian Church in Freeport.

Elsie was a clerk at Lee's Pharmacy and Camerlo's Market, and was a volunteer at the Freeport Senior Center for over 22 years.

She enjoyed knitting and sewing, and crocheting afghans for her family and friends.

Elsie is survived by her two sons, Robert A. (Mary) Ortz of Cabot, and Richard J. (Pam) Ortz of Cabot.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Mandy Ortz, Jennifer (Charles) McGee, Justin (Julie) Ortz and Jacob Ortz; six great-grandchildren, Kylie, Chloe and Bradley McGee, and Makayla, Scarlett and Isabelle Ortz.; and her sister, Helen Fuhrman of Cabot.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Shuster; and her brothers, James and Richard Rusz.

ORTZ — A private family visitation and funeral service will be held for Elsie J. Ortz, who died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022.

Arrangements are under the direction of REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, Freeport.
