Lawrence Summerville
Lawrence E. “Larry” Summerville, 73, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Butler, passed away June 9, 2022, in Henderson.
Born Sept. 13, 1948, Larry was the son of the late William and Loretta (Green) Summerville.
After graduating from BHS in 1967, Larry joined the Army, serving in Vietnam. Upon leaving the Army, he married Wilma Brown (deceased). He worked at Pullman Standard until it closed in 1981. He then joined the National Guard and worked at the Gap where he met his second wife, Cyndi. He retired from the Harrisburg Post Office in 2012 after 18 years of service and moved to Nevada. Larry was a member of the VFWs in Butler and Henderson. He was a die-hard Steelers fan who never missed a game. He also enjoyed going to casinos with his late wife, Cyndi.
Larry is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Perdue and Tiffany (Nolan) Bennetti; a sister, Jean (Ed) Rodemoyer, all of Butler; a sister-in-law, Sandy Summerville of Fleetwood, Pa.; four grandchildren, Sadie Perdue, Nora and Elliott Bennetti, and Bailey Howell; a stepson, Josh Pereria of Denver, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins,
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Lynn Howell, who died April 12, 2013; his wife Cyndi, who died Sept. 12, 2019; and three brothers.
