William O. Wiegand
William O. Wiegand, 79, of Monroeville, formerly of Bethel Park, passed away Thursday.
Bill was born Nov. 28, 1937, in Richland Township, Mars, the son of the late Wilbur H. and Anna Kamerer Wiegand.
Bill was a 1960 graduate of Penn State University. He retired from DuPont in 1994 after 34 years of service as an electrical engineer. During his career, he worked three years at the Savanna River Site in Georgia with the Department of Energy. After retirement he was an independent engineering contractor.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a devout Christian and grew up attending St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mars.
Bill loved all things Western Pennsylvania. He was a fan of Penn State football and all Pittsburgh sports teams. He enjoyed skiing and traveling and loved dogs.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Brletic Wiegand, in 2007 and his siblings, Jean Rennick and James Wiegand.
Bill is survived by his children, Mike Wiegand of Seattle, Wash., Ann (Tony) Guillen of Tallahassee Fla., and Doug Wiegand of Rising Sun, Md.; and four grandchildren.
WIEGAND — Family and friends of William O. Wiegand, who died Thursday June 1, 2017, will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home 702 7th St., State Route 130, Trafford, before leaving at 11 a.m. for a chapel service at the All Saints-Braddock Catholic Cemetery, Braddock Hills.
