Elmer F. Doerr

Elmer F. Doerr, 98, of Cabot passed away Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born Dec. 6, 1917, in Jefferson Township, he was the son of Franklin John Doerr and Amelia Wagner Doerr.

Elmer served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Throughout his life, Elmer worked as a salesman for various area companies.

He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, where he had been very active, serving on the Church Council and as elder.

He was also a member of the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683, Saxonburg VFW Post 7376.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Montag Doerr, who he married Feb. 14, 1942; his children Barbara (John) Laskey of Raleigh, N.C., Daniel (Patricia) Doerr of Milford, Conn., and Sharon (Mark) Schmetzer of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren, Brian, Nathaniel, Amanda and Kalli; and one great-grandson, Bryce.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roy and Karl.

DOERR — Friends of Elmer F. Doerr, who died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, were received Sunday at Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, with the Rev.
