Paul McMullen
Paul McMullen passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, in Butler. He was born Dec. 23,1927, in Spangler, Pa., and was the third of ten children born to the late William McMullen Sr. and Agnes (McTigue) McMullen.
He attended Lock Haven College and later joined the U.S. Army Air Force. After honorable discharge, Paul met the love of his life, Nancy Ford, in Spangler, where she attended nursing school. The pair were married on April 18, 1953, and went on to become parents of three girls. They moved multiple times while Paul built his career with Metropolitan Life Insurance, where he rose to a leadership position, finally settling in Butler to raise their girls. During his career, Paul earned numerous awards of recognition from the company for his work and leadership.
Paul served as chapter chairman of the Butler County Red Cross. He was a founding member of the Moss Barn Sportsman Camp in Potter County, where he cherished the camaraderie of his brothers and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed swimming, reading and most of all spending time with family and friends — of which there are many. In retirement, Paul and Nancy moved to Florida and enjoyed traveling before moving back to Butler.
Paul is survived by his three daughters, Kelly McMullen (Tim Fitzmaurice) of Germantown, N.Y., Kimberly (David) Morgan of Butler, and Kerry (Brian) Dease of Medina, Ohio; grandchildren, Michael Morgan (Brooke Frazer) and Patricia Morgan of Butler, Kaleigh Dease (Wes Mullen) of Boston, Mass., and Connor Dease of Medina, Ohio; siblings, Bob (Naomi) McMullen, Cheryl (Paul) Leftko, Mary Ellen (Tom) Lowe, Jim (Patty) McMullen, Chuck (Janet) McMullen, Patrick (Diane) McMullen and sister-in-law, Janice McMullen.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. McMullen, and their infant twin daughters; sister, Betty (Pat) Lantzy; and brothers, William McMullen Jr. and Ronald McMullen.
