Donald E. 'Windy' Sutton Sr.
Donald E. “Windy” Sutton Sr., 82, of Butler passed away at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Dec. 3, 1930, in Butler to the late Samuel Sutton and Helen (Blose) Sutton.
Mr. Sutton worked as a machinist at Armco for more than 30 years in the Machine Shop.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. Mr. Sutton was a member of the VFW Chicora Post 7876, a charter member of the Happy Hunters Sportsman Club and was an Independent Union Representative at Armco.
Mr. Sutton is survived by one son, Donald E. Sutton Jr. and his wife, Kimberly, of Chicora; four daughters, Vickie Knestaut and her husband, Danny, of Greensburg, Wendy Pratts and her husband, Eddie, of Butler, Debby Sutton of Butler, and Christine Martin and her husband, Patrick, of Palmyra, Pa.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret McPherson and her husband, Ronald, of Meridian.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Belle Sutton, who he married Aug. 23, 1957, and passed away on July 19, 2012; two brothers Charles and Robert Sutton; and one sister, Ora Schomer.
