Margaret “Peg” Jean McPherson
Margaret “Peg” Jean McPherson, 84, of Butler passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 21, 1935 in Fenelton, and was the daughter of the late Samuel J. Sutton and the late Helen Blose Sutton.
In her earlier years, Peg worked at Butler Armco in the office department, then she went on to own and operate McPherson Beauty Shop in Meridian for numerous years.
Peg attended First Baptist Church.
She was an avid golfer, bowler and liked to play shuffleboard and also enjoyed round-dancing and square-dancing. Peg played the accordion, piano and the organ. She loved crocheting, baking, gardening and especially spending time with her family.
Peg is survived by her husband, Ronald McPherson, whom she married July 6, 1955; one son, Timothy McPherson of Butler; three daughters, Sandra (Fred) Kriess of Glendale, Ariz., Susan (Hank) Voorhees of Grove City, and Mary (Heskil) Whitaker of Orange Park, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; her son-in-law, Dirk Pickett of Butler; her sister-in-law, Mildred Sutton of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son; one daughter, Ronda Pickett; one sister; and three brothers.
MCPHERSON — Friends of Margaret “Peg” Jean McPherson, who died Monday, March 9, 2020, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
