Brian K. Swank, 45, of Portage passed away Saturday.

He was born on July 18, 1969, in Butler, the son of Keith Swank and the late Carol DeFelice Swank.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Arthur Burkett.

He is survived by his father; his loving wife of 21 years, Susan Burkett Swank; his children, Jacob and Maryn Swank; his brother, Aaron Swank and his wife, Nichole, of Denver, Colo.; his mother-in-law, Mary Burkett of Portage; his brothers-in-law, Jeremy (Amy) Burkett and Josh (Tobi) Burkett, both of Portage; his sister-in-law, Kellie Burkett of Atlanta, Ga.; and his nieces and nephew, Camdin, Jenna, Ava, Cassie, Brynn, Tyson and Addyson.

Brian was a 1987 graduate of Knoch High School and received his Bachelor's degree in business and economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991. He then received his Bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1996.

He was employed as a pharmacist at the Ebensburg Center.

A former junior high basketball coach at Portage, he enjoyed golfing, hiking, mountain biking and coaching his kids.

He was an avid Pitt football and basketball fan, and a member of the Panther Club.

Swank — The friends of Brian K. Swank, who passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at theSerenko-Claar Funeral Home, 812 Main St., Portage.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Pastor Terry Trudgen officiating. Committal will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Blue Knob.
