Carole A. Hiles

Carole A. Hiles, 77, of Pine Ridge Drive, Chicora, went home to be with the Lord early Saturday morning at her home.

Carole was born in Petrolia on Oct. 29, 1936. She was the daughter of Arthur E. and Mildred A. Shoup Moyer.

She was a 1954 graduate of Fairview Township Karns City High School.

Carole was a homemaker, and in her earlier years had been employed as a secretary at Witco Chemical, Petrolia.

Carole was a longtime member of the St. Paul's Community Church, Chicora.

She enjoyed watching television, flower gardening, needlepoint, and most especially, the company of her family.

Carole is survived by her husband, James H. Hiles, who she married at St. Paul's Church on Aug. 4, 1956. Also surviving are her four children, Carmel A. Swartz and her husband, Dr. John F. Swartz, of Monkey Island, Okla., Chris A. Hiles and his wife, Laura, of Butler, Jamie D. Miller and her husband, Kevin, of Chicora and Jackie Garing and her husband, Brian, of Karns City; her 12 grandchildren, Lauren Thompson and her husband, Dustin, of Pikeville, Ky., 2nd Lt. USAF Corey Swartz and his wife, Taylor, of Enid, Okla., Erin Swartz of Monkey Island, Okla., Cody Hiles of Pittsburgh, Dylan Hiles of Butler, Ashley Miller, Brooke Miller, Shane Miller and Seth Miller, all of Chicora, LCpl. USMC Jesse Garing and his fiancee, Brittany Goslaw, Adam Garing and Caleb Garing, all of Karns City; her two great-grandchildren, Jesslyn and Jaxsen Thompson of Pikeville, Ky.; as well as her two sisters-in-law, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister and her step-grandson, Luke Womer.

Hiles — The friends of Carole A. Hiles, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul's Community Church, 2167 Route 268, Chicora, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Randall J. Forester, church pastor, officiating.
