Margie Castello

Margaret (Margie) L. Castello, 51, of Renfrew, formerly of Valencia, passed away Wednesday at her home. She bravely fought a lengthy battle with brain cancer.

Born April 12, 1963, Margie was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Miller.

Margie was a beautiful person who shared her energy and positive attitude with all who crossed her path. She studied physical education at Slippery Rock University, where she started Slippery Rock’s Female Bodybuilding Club.

Margie married the love of her life, Lou Castello, in 1987. Together they had two children and shared a life of love, laughs and happiness. Margie loved the outdoors, enjoying traveling and camping with her family. She was very athletic and earned her black belt in Shotokan Karate.

Margie was the customer and administrative services manager at TMS in Warrendale for many years.

Margie was a strong influence and loving mother to her children. She will be loved and forever missed by all who had a chance to have her in their lives.

Margie leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Lou Castello; her son, Louis Castello of North Hills; her daughter, Mindy Castello of Renfrew; her siblings, Annamarie (Paul) Miller-Starr, Laura (Mark) Williams and Chuck (Pam Sondej) Miller; her extended family, Louis D. Castello (Diane Hoak), Denise Castello, Christina Castello (Melinda Trempus) and Raymond (Anna) Castello; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Marilyn Woodward.

Margie’s family would like to thank everyone who supported and prayed for her during this rough time.

Castello, who passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.A celebration of Margie's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, with the Pastor Greg Wiest officiating.
