Sherry A. Charlton Basilone, 68, of Zelienople passed away Tuesday surrounded by her family at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh.

Born March 15, 1944, in Pittsburgh, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Mary Jane Safranek Charlton.

Sherry was a genuinely selfless and hard working woman who always had the ability of putting others needs before her own. Above all, she was an outstanding mother, a loving sister and an adoring grandmother whose grandsons were truly the lights of her life. Her kindheartedness and sunny disposition will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her two loving sons, Scott Basilone and his wife, Melody, of Zelienople and Gregg Basilone and his companion, Karri Zellerino, of Zelienople; the father of her two sons, John Basilone of Zelienople; her loving sister, Kathleen Charlton of Pittsburgh; her two adoring grandsons, Brandon and Cameron Basilone, both of Zelienople; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear brother, Ronald Charlton, who passed away May 24, 2010.

BASILONE — Sherry A. Charlton Basilone passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012. Sherry’s family will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at the St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with Father Lawrence R. Smith as celebrant. Please meet at the church.

She will be laid to rest at the St. Gregory Church Cemetery in Zelienople.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
