Douglas “Doug” Hogue, 61, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., formerly of Harrisville, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, in Pittsburgh after a brief illness.

Born on Nov. 27, 1960, in Grove City, Doug was the son of Joan A. (McNeish) Hogue and the late Richard S. Hogue.

Doug was a 1978 graduate of Slippery Rock High School.

He was a self-employed contractor for many years, having built homes in the Outer Banks.

Doug was of the Protestant faith.

He was a member of the Eagles Club 4506.

Doug was an avid bowler (bowling at least one perfect 300 game), loved to go fishing, loved the beach, and was was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was also an excellent cook. He loved his dogs very much.

Doug is survived by his mother, Joan Hogue; two brothers, Robert (Gaile) Hogue of Butler, and Brian (Linda) Hogue of Jackson Center; a sister, Kimberly (Mitchell) Stoughton of Slippery Rock; and five nephews and their families.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Richard.

HOGUE — Burial will be private for Douglas “Doug” Hogue, who died Friday, July 29, 2022.

Arrangements are under the direction of WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, West Sunbury.
