Alan Regis Reesman, 77, of Slippery Rock passed away at his home about 4:45 a.m. Thursday.

He was born in Pittsburgh on July 17, 1937, to Mary Louise McCommons.

He married Georgetta Lee Sauro on April 22, 1967, and she survives at the home.

Mr. Reesman has worked in New Castle at Kasgro Rail as an ARP Inspector.

He was a Protestant, and he was the first chess champion in Butler County and was recognized as such on another occasion, both occurring in the early 1970s.

He is survived by his wife, Georgetta, at the home in Slippery Rock; two daughters, Susan I. Reesman of Denver, Colo., and Renea L. Reesman of San Antonio, Texas; and one son, J.C. Reesman of Golden, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his father, David A. Reesman; his first wife, Betty Sue; two sons, Dennis A. and Jerry A.; one brother, Donald W.; and one sister, Joanne Dollar.

REESMAN — The family of Alan Regis Reesman, who died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, will observe private services at the Smith Funeral Home in Slippery Rock. There will be no public viewing or visitation.Interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Salvation Army or the Feed My Sheep Food Cupboard in Slippery Rock.
