Kathryn L. (Cypher) Smith

Kathryn L. (Cypher) Smith, 63, of Cabot passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 13, 1952, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Louis and LaRue (Painter) Cypher.

Kathy was a graduate of Knoch High School. She was also a graduate of Slippery Rock College and the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for Butler Memorial Hospital for 38 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of the NRA and enjoyed shooting with the Golden Triangle Skeet League. Kathy enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing solitaire. She also enjoyed traveling nationally and internationally. Kathy loved spending time with and spoiling her grandsons and her Labrador, Bailey.

Surviving are her husband, John W. Smith, who she married Nov. 24, 1973; her sons, Sean (Sarah) Smith of Cabot and Chris Smith of Cabot; her grandsons, Tyler and Hunter Smith of Cabot; her siblings, Mary Ellen (Douglas) Bergbigler of Cabot, Anna (Bruce) Crider of Butler, Lewis (Linda) Cypher of Butler, Peter (Patricia) Cypher of Escondido, Calif., Gregory (Deborah) Cypher of Cabot, Teresa (David) Buss of Cabot and Betty (Kevin) Robinson of Cabot; and many nieces and nephews.

SMITH — Friends of Kathryn L. (Cypher) Smith, who died Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Ward Stakem, O.F.M.
