Lock Haven takes a pair from The Rock
Melissa Lowrey led the Slippery Rock University softball team's hitting effort with a 3-for-4 performance in the first game Friday, but SRU fell to Lock Haven 6-1 before dropping the nightcap 7-0.
Lock Haven (28-6, 13-1) used a four-run sixth inning to break a 1-all tie.
Andrea Murdock added a pair of hits for SRU (22-14, 6-8).
In the second game, Jessica Vrabel's pinch-hit single in the top of the fifth was The Rock's lone hit.
Butler County Community College dropped a pair of decisions to Potomac State, 6-1 and 6-4, Friday.
In the opener, Nikki Cranmer had a double and single and Lara Hayden had a single.
Potomac State's Megan Frazier had a home run and a single, and Colleen Wakefield had three hits.
In the nightcap, Sarah Callender had a double and two singles for the Pioneers, Ali Schnur (Butler) had a double and single and Val Fair (Butler) had a double.
