Rev. Theresa Marion “Rose” Fouts

The Rev. Theresa Marion “Rose” Fouts of Freedom passed away Sunday with her family at her side.

Born Sept. 21, 1934, in Amity, Ark., she was a daughter of the late Victor L Sr. and Virginia Campbell Rose.

Theresa was a United Methodist pastor with the Western Pennsylvania United Methodist Conference. Ordained in 1981, she served United Methodist churches, including Robison Chapel, Uniontown Larger Parish, North Richmond, Teepleville, Green Valley and Wilmerding. She retired from active ministry in 2000.

She served on the Conference Commission on the Status and Role of Women from 1987 to 1994. Theresa was supportive of many community organizations, such as Animal Friends, the Audubon Society, WQED and the Butler Opera Society.

A woman of many talents and great faith, she shared her passions in music, sewing, quilting, journaling, poetry and language, being most passionate about her family

In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband of 42 years, the Rev. Earle H. Fouts.

Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl L. Cotten of Pittsburgh and Carrie R. (Michael) Hungerman of Cranberry Township; her son, Jeremy E. Fouts of Demorest, Ga.; her sister, June (Monty) Andrew-Howard of Oklahoma; one brother, Victor L. (Gwen) Rose Jr. of Kansas; six cherished grandchildren, Sheldon P. Cotten, Bronwyn Rose Cotton, Seth E. Hungerman, Evan W. Hungerman, Ryan M. Hungerman and Luke D. Hungerman; and two great-grandchildren, John M. and Jaxson W. Hungerman.

FOUTS — A memorial visitation for the Rev. Theresa Marion “Rose” Fouts, who died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Noll Funeral Home, 333 Third St., Beaver.Private graveside services will be at Southside Cemetery, Pittsburgh.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Theresa's name to VOICe of Butler County, Concordia Lutheran Ministries Good Samaritan Fund in Cabot, or UM Clergy Women's Scholarship Fund of WPA Annual Conference.Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
