Kenneth LeRoy Knauff, College Avenue, Fredonia, passed away at 1:55 p.m. Saturday at the UPMC-Horizon, Greenville Campus following a period of failing health. He was 78.

Kenneth was born in Zelienople, on Nov. 4, 1933, a son of the late John Henry and Chloe Elizabeth (McCall) Knauff.

He was a self-employed farmer and farmed in Butler County before relocating to Mercer County. There he purchased the family farm in Delaware Township and continued farming until he was injured in a farming accident 31 years ago. He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Greenville.

He is survived by three daughters, Deborah Jean Foss and her husband, Robert, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Valetta Crouser and her husband, Don, of Fredonia and Mary Green and her husband, Theodore, of Pittsburgh; a son Kenneth Roy Knauff and his wife, Alberta, of Sand Fork, W.Va.; a step daughter, Ruth Ann Johns of Fredonia; two brothers, Francis (Pete) Knauff and his wife, Emma Lu, of Zelienople and George Knauff and his wife, Sandy, of Zelienople; three grandchildren, Patricia Knauff, Kristen Foss and DeKota Crouser; five step grandchildren, Scott Crouser, Todd Crouser, Eric Crouser, Teayria Cool and Janessia Cool; and a great-granddaughter, Neyohmi Sylvester.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Henry Knauff; and a sister, Stella Campbell.

KNAUFF — A funeral service for Kenneth LeRoy Knauff, who passed away at Saturday, June 2, 2012, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home, 169 Second St., Fredonia, with the Rev. Ronald Harbaugh, pastor of the St. Johns Lutheran Church, Greenville, officiating. Entombment will be at the Green Lawn Burial Estates, Butler.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and are invited to share memories and condolences online at www.rlsfh.com.

The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to Family Hospice and Pallative Care, 1965 Shenango Valley Freeway # 2, Hermitage, PA 16148.
