David R. LeRoy
David R. LeRoy, 63, of State College passed away Sunday at his home.
He was born June 14, 1949, in Butler and was a son of Elizabeth “Betty” (Patratos) LeRoy of Butler and the late Henry LeRoy.
Mr. LeRoy was a graduate of Butler High School and attended Robert Morris University.
While David had many enjoyable careers throughout his life, his passion was his nonprofit work in wetland conservation as a regional director with Ducks Unlimited. Later in life, he enjoyed his work in sales at Saturn of State College and Dix Honda.
David was a member of the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Father O'Hanlon Council 4678, in State College.
A true outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping and being involved in scouting, in which he attained the rank of Eagle Scout as a youth. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, carpentry and the companionship of the many hunting dogs he trained throughout his life.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Clark (David) of Alachua, Fla., and Kristen LeRoy of State College; two sons, Michael LeRoy of High Springs, Fla., and Matthew LeRoy (Meredith) of State College; one brother, Gary LeRoy (Sandy) of Beaver Falls; and five grandchildren, Lindsey LeRoy, Georgia Clark, Audrey Clark, Wesley Clark and Adelynn LeRoy.
LEROY — Family of David R. LeRoy, who passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the blessing service at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Officiating the blessing service will be Monsignor David Lockard.
