Sandra E. Wright Van Atta
Sandra E. Wright Van Atta, 68, of Middlesex Township passed away Suunday.
Born in Wilkinsburg, March 22, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ellen (Smith) Brunton.
She was the beloved wife for 49 years of the late Alonzo A. Van Atta, who she married on July 15, 1961, and who died on Feb. 28, 2011; loving mother of Jeffrey (Michele) Van Atta of Delmont and David (Lori Scott) Van Atta of Middlesex Township; beloved sister of Shirley (the late Leonard) Daw, Debbie (Dan) Hagan, Carol (Lee) Lampard, Paul (Sandy) Brunton, Bruce Wright, Patty Iscrupe and Rusty Wright; former mother-in-law of Julia and Elizabeth Van Atta; and proud grandmother of Gina (Jake) Repp, Bunny (D.J.) Schroder, Trouble, Beth (Todd), Dana and Homer “Junior” (Amy). She also is survived by one great-grandson, Hunter Schroder; many “adopted” grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Above everything Sandra was devoted to her beloved family. She was a social member of the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Company and a past president of the ladies auxiliary. She was always at every fire helping to distribute water and refreshment. She enjoyed Saturday night campfires at her family's camp.
VAN ATTA — Sandra E. Wright Van Atta passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012. The Van Atta family will welcome friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Services will be in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
