Armstrong

Originally known as Armstrong Utilities, then Armstrong Cable Services, and now simply Armstrong, the company's current tagline - One wire. Infinite possibilities - says it all.

Armstrong Utilities was founded in 1942 by Jud L. Sedwick and provided construction services to utility companies. During the 1960s, Armstrong expanded into cable television, creating its first cable system in Butler in 1963, followed by Ellwood City in 1967.

Today Armstrong owns and operates 11 cable television systems in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, and Kentucky. Locally, the Butler and Zelienople offices provide analog cable, digital cable and high definition digital cable television services as well as cable broadband internet service in Butler County and portions of Allegheny, Beaver and Lawrence counties.

In 2001, Armstrong completed its upgrade to fiber-optic cable that has enabled it to provide more channels with enhanced picture and sound quality, increased technology, reliability, data networks, and broadband internet access.

Armstrong Digital Cable offers customers more than 200 channels including French and Italian language channels, 45 digital music channels, a broad selection of pay-per-view movies, sports packages, special ticket events, plus premium channel options such as HBO, Cinemax, Showtime and Starz.

Armstrong Digital HD, featuring high definition television programming options, is also available in the following systems: Butler, Zelienople, Grove City, Meadville and Boardman, Ohio.

Armstrong Digital PVR, personal video recorder, also referred to as DVR, digital video recorder, is revolutionizing the way people watch live television.

Our PVR customers can control live TV, at their own whim. No more "must see TV" on the networks' schedules. Record. Play. Pause. Rewind. Watch it whenever you want.

Armstrong ZOOM Cable Internet service gives customers unlimited Internet access all at a speed for their specific needs for surfing the Web, downloading music, streaming video, gaming, etc. Our home networking service, ZOOMSHARE, allows residential ZOOM customers to network up to four personal computers in the home.

Armstrong has partnered with several merchants to showcase and demonstrate these various services. You can also check out Armstrong television and Internet services, both wired and wireless, at these locations:
