BUTLER TWP — The Housing Authority of the County of Butler’s 20th annual scholarship luncheon was held Wednesday at the Butler Day’s Inn on Route 8.

The scholarships are to recognize and encourage participants in the housing authority’s many programs to pursue higher education and achieve economic independence.

A total of 10 scholarships totaling $7,500 were awarded. The recipients are:

• Latisha Ellison, the Robert Hartnett Memorial Scholarship

• Dawn Dermond — the Pepper Hamilton Scholarship

• Peyton Devereaux — the Affordable Housing Accountants, LTD

• Nikita Ahuja — the Dollar Bank Scholarship

• Kristen DeSantis — the PNC Bank Scholarship

• Bridget Galli — the Armstrong Cable — Jud Sedwick Scholarship

• Cherie Greenspring — the Stepanian & Menchyk, LLP Scholarship

• Brittany Kroll — the Excalibur Insurance Scholarship

• Paola Alvarado — the Northwest Savings Bank Scholarship

• Erica McCloskey — the Alliance for Nonprofit Resources Scholarship.
