Richard L. Hilliard

Richard L. Hilliard, 75, of Butler passed away Sunday at his home.

Born March 8, 1941, in Butler, he was the son of William Hilliard and Bertha Stevens Hilliard.

Dick worked for H.P. Starr Lumber. He was a truck driver and yard foreman, retiring after 38 years of service.

He was a member of the Saxonburg Golden Agers and enjoyed fishing with his longtime friend Elmer.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Hilliard Jr. of Ellwood City and James Hilliard of Butler; four daughters, Emma (Don) Scott of Butler, Tina Nellis of Evans City, Debbie Schoentag of Butler and Deritha (Bob) Kaiser of Butler; three stepsons, Paul (Donna) Vogel of Zelienople, John Vogel of Saxonburg and Earl Vogel of Ellwood City; two stepdaughters, Jean (John) White of Butler and Rebecca (John) Howell of Florida; his brother, Robert Hilliard of Butler; one sister, Shirley Ealy of Butler; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Hickey Hilliard on Feb. 23, 2014; three sisters; and seven brothers.

HILLIARD — Friends of Richard L. Hilliard, who died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
