Walter J.D. Callender
Walter J.D. Callender, 47, of Grove City, formerly of Scrubgrass Township in Venango County, died at 10:27 p.m. Wednesday at his home after a three-month illness.
Born in Butler, Feb. 6, 1960, he was the son of Denzil R. and Laurella Marie Barger Callender, both of whom died in 2006.
He was affiliated with the Church of God.
Mr. Callender had been a mechanic and driver in the trucking industry most of his adult life.
His hobbies were riding motorcycles and sport shooting rifles.
Surviving are his wife, Lorie Sweetapple Callender, whom he married June 21, 1980; three sons, Joshua Callender of Bullion, Venango County, Jason Callender of Richmond, Calif., and Jesse Callender of Emlenton; a brother, Wendel R. Callender of New Castle; a sister, Lorraine Girty of St. Petersburg, Clarion County; a grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews survive.
<B>CALLENDER </B>— Friends of Walter J.D. Callender, who died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, were received Sunday at the <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Parker. Funeral services were held Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Kelly officiating. Burial was this morning at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Dutch Hill, Clarion County.
