Leapline

Steven R. Leapline, 70, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, passed away on Sunday morning, July 17, 2022, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in Connellsville on June 25, 1952, he was the son of the late Lester Leroy and Irene Cromwell Leapline.

Steven was a software engineer for PNC Bank in Pittsburgh.

He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Butler, where he had been a Sunday school teacher, and he also was an interpreter for the deaf.

He loved the outdoors and had walked the Appalachian Trail several times.

Surviving are his wife, Beth Caravelli Leapline, whom he married on April 26, 1980; two daughters, Meghan Patel (Anuj) of Boston, Mass., and Ashley Kirchartz (Joel) of Brighton Heights; and two sons, Justin Leapline (Jennifer) of Mars, and Jacob Leapline of Valencia.

He was the Pap of Logan, Lila, Ivy, Quest, Elanor, Kiara, Riker and Marcus.

He is also survived by his sisters, Marion Soberdash (Alfred) of Dunbar, Nancy Allen (Larry) of Eastern Pa., Lois Tissue (John) of Maryland, and Leslie Potter (Bill) of Virginia; a brother, David Earl Leapline (Nita) of Dallas, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Debbie Leapline of Dunbar; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Hawkins; and three brothers, Lester, Bob and Scott Leapline.

LEAPLINE — Friends of Steven R. Leapline, who died Sunday, July 17, 2022, are invited to a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., Butler, with the Rev. David Maitland, pastor, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
