Ridership goes up
The Butler Transit Authority finished out its fiscal year with a 12 percent ridership increase over the previous year.
The authority serviced just under 250,000 passenger trips between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012.
The fare categories that saw the largest jump in ridership include a 52.2 percent increase in Butler County Community College students, a 34.6 percent increase in children up to 6 years and a 20.7 percent increase in cash-paying customers.
The fare category with the largest decrease was the category of students age 13 to 17 with a discount pass.
