Franklin Ramsey

Franklin Lewis Ramsey, 88, of Evans City, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, while under the care of The Grove at Harmony.

Born March 3, 1933, in Evans City, he was the son of the late Walter L. Ramsey and Mary Frishcorn Ramsey.

Franklin served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951 until 1955.

He was employed as a social studies teacher for the Seneca Valley School District for 35 years. He was a junior varsity football coach and the game announcer for Raider football. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Melanie Ramsey of Evans City; his grandchildren, Spencer J. Ramsey and Antionette Lyn Walton; and his brother, Dean (Bonnie) Ramsey of Chicora.

In addition to his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lois Valjean Ramsey, whom he married on Aug. 31, 1956, and who passed away on Sept. 9, 2016; his daughter, Jeri Dawn Ramsey, who passed away on Dec. 17, 2020; a sister; and four brothers.

RAMSEY — Arrangements for Franklin Lewis Ramsey, who died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, have been entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
