Thomas Gilman Crosby

Thomas Gilman Crosby,61, of Butler, formerly of Tucson, Ariz., passed away Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born on Oct. 7, 1952, he was the beloved son of the late Gilman and Shirley (Badger) Crosby.

Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and studied in Taipei, Taiwan, where he spoke the Chinese language fluently.He had a passion for reading.

During his time in Tucson,he was revered as a talented service manager for a large event center.

Tom is survived by his sister, Cathe Crosby Franz; his niece, Emily McGee and her husband, Tom, and his grandniece, Madigan McGee.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Crosby Christy, and his brother-in-law, David L. Franz.

Crosby — A celebration of the life of Thomas Gilman Crosby, who passed awayFriday, May 23, 2014, will be at 4 p.m. June 22 at the Harmony Moose Lodge 957, 607 Mercer St., Harmony.He will be laid to rest privately by his family with military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom's honor in support of the Zelienople Area Public Library, 227 S.
