Nancy Leonberg
This is in loving memory of Nancy Katherine "Kate" Leonberg of Cranberry Township, who passed away Sunday unexpectedly at UPMC Presbyterian.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Callery. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Marie Johnston Dunbar.
She was a lifetime member of the Dutilh United Methodist Church and participated in church events, especially the Lenten Lunches.
She was the head cook at Pen Mar Plaza, and she also worked at Valencia Woods.
She married Oran "Bunny" Leonberg Sr. on Sept. 26, 1949, 60 years ago.
She especially enjoyed her large family gatherings, trips and reunions where everyone enjoyed her cooking.
She is survived by her husband; her sons, Douglas (Nancy) of Slippery Rock, Oran Jr. (Lydia) of Cranberry Township, and Dean (Cherilyn) and Duane, both of Prospect; and her daughters, Lana Barthelmes (Bob) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Lori Bain of Cranberry Township. She also is survived by her sister, Doris McDonald of Mars; and brothers, Chester "Buck" and his wife, Mary Dunbar of Zelienople and Grant Dunbar, Jim Dunbar (Pat) and Lawrence "Pony" Dunbar (Lucy), all of Evans City, her brothers-in-law, Carl Blank and Frank Leonberg Jr. (Betty); and a sister-in-law, Donna Pegher (Donnie). She will be missed by her 11 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren, especially by her caregiver and granddaughter, Jenny.
A sister, Sara Kennedy, and brothers, John and Clifford Dunbar, preceded her in death.
