Anna F. 'MeMe' Ferrere

Anna F. Ferrere, 82, of Boyers Road in Forestville passed into eternal life at 3:10 p.m. Saturday at Life Care of Pittsburgh, Belleview.

She was born in Grove City on Jan. 27, 1929, to Vincenzo J. and Nunzia Isacco Chelli, who are deceased.

She graduated from Harrisville High School in Harrisville.

Anna was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Anthony K.C. Church in Forestville. She was a devout Catholic and a charter member of St. Anthony's Conferternity of Christian Mothers. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary daily. Throughout her life she devoted many hours serving the church which she loved.

Anna enjoyed playing bingo, was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Steelers. She was an avid canner, canning items from her garden. She also spent time cooking and baking for her family.

Anna will be remembered for her humble and caring ways and for always thinking of others before herself. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Anna lived each day with unconditional love and devotion to her family. Her love will remain in the hearts of her family forever.

Anna married Regis R. Ferrere on Oct. 1, 1949, at St. Anthony Church, Forestville. They celebrated 60 years of marriage until his death on Oct. 3, 2009.

She is survived by her seven children, Regis M. Ferrere and Rita L. Ferrere of Forestville, Joyce A. Flinner and her husband, DuWayne, of Prospect, Diane C. Merkle and her husband, Gregory, of Grove City, Paula K. Maloney and her husband, Roy, of Greenville, Ronald D. Ferrere of Butler, and Karen M. Schmidt and her husband, David, of Spring, Texas.

Anna also is survived by four grandchildren, Kristen Kindya, Sara Merkle, Hannah Schmidt and Gina Maloney.

She was the last survivor of nine children, having been preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.

Main St., Harrisville.A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, St. Anthony R.C. Church, Forestville, with Father Kevin G. Poecking officiating.
