Delores Jane Thompson

Delores Jane Thompson, 94, of Slippery Rock, passed away Sunday at Orchard Manor in Grove City.

She was born in Putneyville, Pa., to Joseph Thomas Raught and Eva Katura Slagle Raught.

She married Martin Lee Thompson on Jan. 23, 1942, and he preceded her in death Nov. 20, 2012.

Delores was a homemaker and in recent years, enjoyed volunteering at the Slippery Rock Library and participating in different women's groups at the Church of God in Grove City where she was a member.

She had the distinction as a young girl of attending grades one through eight in a one-room school house in Putneyville, and her teacher for all eight of those years was her father known to other students as Mr. Raught.

Survivors include four sons, Donald M. Thompson of Johnstown, Dennis L. (Lisa) Thompson of Kennerdell, Robert R. “Bob” (Rhonda) Thompson of Mercer, Springfield Township and Alan Dean (Gina) Thompson of Cheyenne, Wyo.; her brother, William Raught (Nancy) of Dayton, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Travis Thompson, Heather Harmon, Brian Thompson, Denna Hays, Jesse Thompson, Johannah Thompson, Amber Thompson and Josh Thompson; and five great-grandchildren, Natalie Harmon, Ben Harmon, Anastasia Thompson, Izabella Hays and Brody Hays.

THOMPSON — Family of Delores Jane Thompson, who died Sunday, May 6, 2018, will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
