Mars grad Brueckner gets ECAC honorsERIE — Mars graduate and Gannon University senior Mani Brueckner has been named ECAC Division II Women's Soccer Player of the Year.Brueckner scored 18 goals and had eight assists this season. She became Gannon's all-time leading scorer with 134 points.She was also named first team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

GCC junior White earns All-ECACGROVE CITY — Mars graduate and Grove City College junior defender Jordyn White has been named first team All-ECAC Division III South.White helped the Wolverines post 12 shutouts and a 0.86 goals against average. She also scored five goals and had five assists.GCC senior forward Seth Loew earned All-ECAC on the men's side. He led the Presidents' Athletic Conference with 18 goals and scored 43 points.

SRU's Tucker earns AP football honorSlippery Rock University senior offensive lineman Cory Tucker has been named to the Associated Press Little All-America Team for Division II, III and NAIA players.Tucker (6-foot-4, 305 pounds), a four-year starter, helped The Rock go 12-2 this past season, win a conference title and reach the NCAA Division II quarterfinals.

LeBron injures golfer Day’s wifeCLEVELAND — LeBron James crashed into a courtside seat, accidentally knocking over and injuring PGA champion Jason Day’s wife during the Cavaliers’ win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.Ellie Day was carried from Quicken Loans Arena on a backboard, placed on a stretcher with her head immobilized and taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. Texas A&M loses pair of quarterbacksCOLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M has lost its top two quarterbacks after Kyler Murray left the team and was granted a release to transfer.The highly touted freshman followed Kyle Allen in leaving the team. Allen was granted his release last Thursday.The move leaves the Aggies in a difficult predicament for the Music City Bowl against Louisville on Dec. 30.
