In Memory of Nancy Preston, who passed away 22 years ago, July 10th

I have never believed in the whole “Cardinal” thing.

However, for 2 months this year

A cardinal was at our kitchen window.

At first, it was really quite annoying

As it tapped and tapped

All day long.

But 2 days after it showed up,

My life took a turn.

Then and only then, did I truly believe.

It was you, sending your love and telling me

That all would be alright, and that I would make it.

Thank you, Mom, for always being there.
