Dawson 70th anniversary
Marcella and Walter Dawson of Cabot celebrated 70 years of marriage with a family dinner June 21 at the Kaufman Tavern in Zelienople.
Dawson married the former Marcella Siedlecki on June 21, 1952, at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Lawrenceville.
They have five children, Debra (Chuck) Hinton, Houston, Texas; Walter (Linda) Dawson, Butler; Carol (Tom) Stotish, Butler; Robert Dawson and Renee Hickey, Butler; and Ruth (Herb) Wejner, Zelienople.
They also have eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Dawson was a meat cutter at Thorofare and a retired farmer.
Mrs. Dawson retired as a meat wrapper at Giant Eagle.
The two met at an A&P grocery in Bloomfield.
Mrs. Dawson does needlework.
The Dawsons are members of the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church.
