David Charles Johnson

David Charles Johnson, 56, of Slippery Rock, Cherry Township, passed away at his residence Saturday following a two-year illness.

He was born in Pittsburgh March 7, 1961, to Charles W. Johnson, Jr. and Lisa Smith. David married Patricia Gayle Stoughton May 18, 1990.

He spent most of his working life as a painter and last worked at St. Moritz Services as a custodian.

He attended St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Slippery Rock.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Pittsburgh sports.

He is survived by his wife Patti of Slippery Rock; two daughters, Heather Johnson of McDonald, Pa. and Jennifer Dombeck (Stephen) of Slippery Rock; his mother, Lisa Smith of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Judi Herald (Mike) of Monroeville and Jill Lang (Mike) of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Ronald Johnson (Diane) of McKees Rocks and Charles W. Johnson III of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Dylan and Emma Delaney; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father and step-father, William R. Smith.

JOHNSON — Funeral Services for David Charles Johnson, who died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and 10 a.m. Thursday until time of service at 11 a.m.Memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of the funeral home to help defray costs.
