Brew Works has no timetable for opening
The public got a taste Friday night of what will be on tap at Butler Brew Works, but there is no timetable for when the brewery will open.
The brewery participated in a reception for the “pop-up” creative firm UpTo, which had been promoting itself in a vacant building at 209 S. Main St. for three days.
Travis Tuttle, one of the partners starting the brewery, said he jumped at the invite to participate in the reception.
“Anytime we can pour beer in Butler for the people that will be coming to our pub, we take advantage of it,” he said.
The brewery had a table set up with two brews on tap and a display of blueprints of the interior of the building.
The brewery is renovating its South Main Street property at the corner of East Jefferson Street.
Tuttle said the exterior work of the building is almost done, but there is a lot of work to be done inside.
“It’s pretty much an empty shell,” he said, adding they are still working with contractors for renovations.
Tuttle wouldn’t set a timetable for an opening date.
“We’ve tried to float a few time lines in the past and have blown them,” he said. “So we don’t want to get everyone’s hopes up with a date.”
Butler Brew Works is one of two new brew pubs set to open on Main Street, with the Reclamation Brewing Company planning a 221 S. Main St. location.
