Rita M. Plyler
Rita M. Plyler, 83, of Union Township passed away Saturday afternoon at her home.
Rita was born Nov. 17, 1933, in Butler, the daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Anna Koehnen Nichter.
Her husband Arnold G. Plyler, whom she married April 14, 1973, passed away April 28, 2006. She was an active member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and was a member of the Clen-Moore Prime Timers group.
Rita enjoyed crafts, particularly quilting, painting and ceramics. She loved spending time with her family, especially during reunions, picnics and holidays.
Rita is survived by three daughters Sherry (James) Hannon of Landsdale, Pa., Rita Ann (Kenneth) Davis of New Castle and Paula (Larry) Campbell of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sons Kip (Mary Ann) Rodgers of Lakeland, Fla., and Larry Rodgers of Boardman, Ohio; two stepdaughters Rhonda Flores of Florida and Kristi (Tony) Henson of Austintown, Ohio; two stepsons Steve (Amy) Plyler of New Castle and Michael (Marjorie) Plyler of Edinburg and Unity, Ohio; two sisters Cathy (Jack) McCain of Butler and Joan (Jimmy) Haley of North Carolina; his brother Regis (Liz) Nichter of Butler; and 30 grandchildren.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
PLYLER — Calling hours for Rita M. Plyler, who died Saturday afternoon, July 22, 2017, will be from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.A funeral service will be conducted at noon Friday at the Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church with her stepson, Pastor Steven D. Plyler, officiating. Interment will be at the Knox Dale Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Knox Dale.The family suggests memorial contribution may be made to the Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, 220 E.
