Frank Terwilliger

Frank Terwillinger

Frank Terwilliger, 83, of Aliquippa, Pa., joined the heavenly family of God on Tuesday after battling a 29 year illness that began with lung cancer. He passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side.

Born Oct. 20, 1932, to the late Campbell and Evelena (White) Terwilliger, he was named Franklin by his grandfather in honor of FDR, who had just been elected president.

Frank graduated from the old Parker High School in 1950. After school, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea from 1953 to 1955.

On Nov. 7, 1959, Frank married Kay Radaker, who survives, at the Dutch Hill Church of God. He moved to Chippewa Township in 1964 and attended the Church of God and Pathway Church when he was able.

Nothing delighted him more than grooming his yard to perfection and hosting a picnic in the backyard to celebrate the accomplishments of his children. He enjoyed playing Old Maid cards with his granddaughters, never objecting when they would change the rules in the middle of a game.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Kenneth, Vergil and William Terwilliger; his sister, Mary Radaker; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dorethea and Melvin Radaker; and one precious granddaughter, Olivia Martin.

He is survived by two sons, Michael (Betty) and James (Melodie) Terwilliger; one daughter Michelle (Alan) Martin; his granddaughters, Lauren (Ryan) Hubbard, Cadet 1st Class Madison, Alana and Megan Martin, and Alexis and Alexandra Terwilliger; one great-grandchild, Rylie Hubbard; his two stepgrandchildren, Michael (Alana) Ward and Connie (Roger) Brummitt; four stepgreat-grandchildren; his sister, Deloras Walker; and his two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Monerean and Marjorie Terwilliger.

The family would like to thank his nurses, Barb and Jenna; and his caretakers, Janice and Sharon.
