Morning accident sends man to hospital
JEFFERSON TWP — A South Buffalo Township man this morning was taken by ambulance to a Pittsburgh hospital after his pickup traveled into a wooded area off Alwine Road.
The man, whose name was unavailable, apparently was headed to work at Penn United Technologies when the accident occurred, according to Chief Chris Ballina of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company.
Ballina said the man was taken to Allegheny General Hospital as a precaution because he was disoriented.
Butler state police also responded to the 5:49 a.m. 911 call.
At 6:23 a.m., a pickup was reported hitting a telephone pole on Center Avenue in Butler.
The Butler Fire Department responded to that crash.
Other information about the accidents was unavailable.
