Ronald Wayne Dunn Sr., 82, of Grove City, passed away at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh on Friday, July 1, 2022.

He was born in Grove City on April 6, 1940, the son to John Wayne Dunn and Dorothy Lucille Martsolf Dunn. He married Mary Ann Wray on July 3, 1965, and she preceded him in death on July 27, 2004.

Ron was a self-employed truck driver and had worked extensively for Adobe Mining. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and was active in his community. He had been a member of Grove City Elks and Eagles Clubs. He also was a member of Grove City F. & A.M. Lodge 603 and the Ancient Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle. He was a social member of both the Harrisville American Legion 852 and the Stanley Snyder VFW Post 7465 in Springfield Township. He was a former member of the Cheswick Shriners.

Ron is survived by his son, Ronald W. Dunn Jr. and wife, Kimberly, of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Susan Dunn of Tucson, Ariz., and Darlene “Dolly” (Herbert) Kress of Denver, Colo.; and a brother, William (Diana) Dunn of Deland, Fla.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Betty Joann “Betty Jo” Hood in 2009; and brother, Kenneth.

DUNN — Funeral services for Ronald Wayne Dunn Sr., who died Friday, July 1, 2022, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME , 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, with the Rev. William Mumaw, pastor of Center Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock, presiding. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. Friday.
