James Steven Lukes

James Steven Lukes, 81, of Butler passed away Nov. 10 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born Aug. 2, 1934, in Zelienople, he was the son of the late Steven and Victoria (Ferezan) Lukes.

Jim attended St. Peter's Catholic Church in Butler, and he worked for Johns Manville, which transitioned into BNZ Materials, in Zelienople for 27 years.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was an accomplished fly tier.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his fishing buddies, his many neighbors and numerous friends and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Delores L. Lukes, who passed away on Dec. 8, 2011.

LUKES — James Steven Lukes, who died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, will be laid to rest privately at St. Gregory Catholic Church Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
