Mr. Roy R. Mellott

Mr. Roy R. Mellott, 83, of Butler, formerly of Bedford County, died Tuesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Mr. Mellott was born Nov. 14, 1932, in Everett, Pa., the son of the late Charles and Hester (Colledge) Mellott.

On Jan. 29, 1955, he married Audrey J. (Mitchell) Mellott.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Belinda D. and her husband, William King, of Slippery Rock; his son, Clifford R. Mellott of Slippery Rock; his brother, Richard Mellott of Everett; his sister, Mary Louise Clark of Everett; his sister, Barbara Ann Gawne of Standish, Mich.; and his brother, Michael Mellott of Breezewood, Pa.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Colby and Trevor King and Caitlin, Dana and Dustin Mellott.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Mellott.

Roy was a retired truck driver for Interstate Motor Freight and was a member of Teamsters Local 249 Pittsburgh, 453 Bedford and 261 New Castle.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Butler American Legion Post 0778.

Roy was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather, devoted brother and loyal friend. He will be missed.

MELLOTT — Friends of Roy R. Mellott, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, are invited to call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
