Mae Wonderling

Mae “Miller” Wonderling, 95, of Butler, formerly of Meridian, passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, in Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.

She was born Jan. 9, 1926, in Sharon, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Edgar Allen Poe Miller and Estelle Martin Miller.

Mae was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star White Shrine of Jerusalem, and was a founding member of the Meridian Woodpeckers Fife and Drum. She was a former den mother for Cub Scouts, a Girl Scout leader, an adviser for the Meridian Rainbow Girls, and enjoyed sewing.

She was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church in Butler.

Surviving are a son and two daughters, James Wonderling and his wife, Judy, of Saxonburg, and Carol Tritch and Joan Jones, both of Butler; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mae was preceded in death her husband, William J. Wonderling, whom she married Aug. 8, 1946, and who passed away Sept. 26, 2012; a grandson, William Wonderling; a great-granddaughter, Hope Wonderling; and one sister, Jean Chiavaro.

WONDERLING — There will be no public viewing for Mae “Miller” Wonderling, who died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.

A celebration of Mae’s life will be held later.

Burial will be made in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.

Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, is assisting the family with their arrangements.
