Ruth J. Snyder, 92, of Butler, formerly of Cupps Road in Renfrew, passed away Friday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born on May 3, 1922, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Frank Rivers and Edith (Coovert) Rivers.

Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.

Surviving are her sons, Robert P. (Judy) Snyder of Cedar Grove, N.C., and James A. (Leslie) Snyder of Endicott, N.Y.; her six grandchildren, Denise, Kandi, Robert, Jackie, Lindsey and Stacey; her two great-grandchildren, and her two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. “Art” Snyder, who died on July 23, 1996; her daughter, Susan Fennick; her two brothers, and her two sisters.

Snyder— Friends of Ruth J. Snyder, who died Friday, June 20, 2014, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian, with the Rev. James Murphy, pastor, officiating.
