Timothy D. Smith Sr., 55, a longtime resident of Butler, passed away at 2:55 a.m. Saturday ending his 10-month battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father, Homer D. Smith, and his son, James Harvey Jr.

He is survived by his children, Pollie (Manning) Fife, Rhoda J. Yates, Rebecca Smith, Kenneth Yates, Thomas D. Smith, Timothy D. Smith Jr., Benjamin Barhight, Bonnie Jay Kopelic and Trina Wideman; his mother, Gail St. Germain and Stephen of Florida; his siblings Jeanne A. Smith and Ella of Florida, David J. Smith and Kristy of Georgia, Thomas H. Smith and Misty of Missouri, Dorothy F. Eyler and Michael of Pennsylvania, Erma G. Houck and Craig of Pennsylvania and Anthony L. Smith of Florida; nephews, nieces and grandchildren; and by his best friend, John Dougherty.

Tim enjoyed wood carving, drawing and sharing his gift of art with others.

Tim was a carpenter, a personal care giver and artist.
