John Henry Richard, 87, of Baden, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022.

He was born in Wexford, and was the son of the late George and Jeannette (Nichols) Richard.

He was the husband of the late Barbara Richard for 36 years. They traveled extensively, and were hosts for more gatherings than can be counted. They always did things together with family and friends and loved being with everyone.

John was the dear father of Beth McKay (Jeff), Sandy Monti, Patty Druschel, Sylvia Wack (Tom), Debra Levis (Jim), Bob Rice and the late Barbara “Babbie” Richard; and the brother of George Richard, Rosemary Robinson, Patricia McKitten and the late Kenneth Richard.

John is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a large extended family.

John was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was an owner, along with his brother, of Richard Refrigeration.

He was a member of St. Ferdinand Church, the Cranberry Elks and the American Legion.

He was creative and could make beauty out of junk. His interests included fishing, boating, NASCAR, politics, playing cards and traveling. He truly lived life to the fullest. He loved his family and friends and knew how to have a good time. He was also one of the hardest workers you could ever meet. Even after retirement, he was the first one to help any family member or friend that needed it. He made friends wherever he went and always left an impression — you never forgot him.

RICHARD — Family and friends of John Henry Richard, who died Thursday, June 30, 2022, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at GEORGE A. THOMA FUNERAL HOME, 10418 Perry Hwy., Wexford.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ferdinand Church (Divine Grace Parish).
