Joseph R. Zang

Zang

Joseph R. “Joe” Zang, 65, of Portersville, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022.

He was born in Portsmouth, Va., on Sept. 16, 1956, and was the son of the late Paul and Elma (Black) Zang.

Joseph graduated from Hampton High School.

He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.

Joseph later went on to be employed as a butcher for Kroger and BiLo Foods in Harmony.

He loved to hunt and fish. Joseph was also a gifted taxidermist.

He was beloved by his family, friends and in-laws. Joseph was the perfect husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret “Mimi” Zang for 45 years; and the father of Melissa (Dee) Long-Higgs, Nathan (Ellen) Zang and Tucker his beloved cat.

He was the brother of Timothy (Carol) Zang and Richard (Kathie) Zang; and was the grandfather of Logan Long, Adisyn Zang, Henry Zang and Oliver Zang.

ZANG — The burial of Joseph R. “Joe” Zang, who died Thursday, June 30, 2022, will be held privately at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Arrangements are through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the honor of Joseph Zang to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
