SRU’s Hamilton gets major PSAC honor
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University baseball standout Connor Hamilton has received the PSAC Pete Nevins Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
This award is given to one male and one female student in the conference who performed exceptionally well in the classroom and in their field of competition. Hamilton becomes the 12th SRU student-athlete to ever win the honor.
SRU’s catcher started all 51 games this season, hitting .400 with 17 home runs and 52 RBI. The 17 homers mark the program’s single-season record. Hamilton graduated this spring with a degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, carrying a 3.92 grade point average.
Athletes make PAC academic honor roll
GROVE CITY — Four former Butler County athletes are among the 87 Grove City College student-athletes to earn spots on the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Athletes must have a grade point average of 3.60 or higher to qualify.
Karns City graduate Hunter Jones (track and field), Seneca Valley graduate Elyse Kiggins (women’s lacrosse), Butler graduate Rachel Ledford (swimming) and Portersville Christian graduate Emma Plank (swimming) are the county honorees.
