Jessie V. Hartzell
Jessie V. Hartzell, 84, of Knox went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday afternoon at UPMC Seneca.
Born June 3, 1927, in Clarion County, she was a daughter of the late G. Franklin Servey and Goldie Belle Henry Servey.
She married Wilfred I. Hartzell and he preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1998.
Jessie was a homemaker, a member of Mt. Joy United Methodist Church and the Providence United Methodist Women and was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher. She was also a member of the Ladies Bible Study Guide and the Knox Area Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her three children, Richard R. Slaughenhaupt and his wife, Sara Jane, of Butler, Helen V. Wetzel and her husband, Daryl, of Knox and Mary A. Keister and her husband, John Jr., of Venus; six grandchildren, William and Timothy Keister, James Wetzel, Patty Anne Mills, Crystal Neubauer and her husband, Walt and Matthew Slaughenhaupt; a special grandson-in-law, Timothy Mills; five great-grandchildren, Jacob and Daniel Wetzel, Abbey and Korey Mills and Colin Neubauer; one brother, George Servey of Shippenville; two sisters, Jane Smathers of New Bethlehem and Lulu Belle Dodd of Bruin; and a sister-in-law, Leona Servey of Reidsburg. She also is survived by three stepchildren: Larry Hartzell, Dennis Hartzell and Nancy Okler; and one stepdaughter-in-law, Nellie Hartzell.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Twila, Mildred, Edna, Edward, Harry and an infant sister.
