SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University catcher Tyler Walters has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II National Hitter of the Week.

He received similar honors from the Atlantic Region and PSAC West earlier in the week.

Walters was 8-for-9 in a doubleheader sweep of Pitt-Johnstown, including two home runs and four doubles. He is hitting .343 for the season with five homers and 29 RBI.
