SPRINGFIELD TWP, Mercer Co. — A 15-year-old boy died early Friday morning and a woman was injured after they were hit by a truck driven by an allegedly drunken driver.

The teenager, who police did not identify, was fishing with Stephani L. Rife, 37, of Kettering Ohio, at a farm along Old Ash Road when they were struck by a Ford F-150 driven by Brittany A. Raskowsky, 25, of New Castle at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday, state police in Mercer said.

Both victims were rushed to Grove City Medical Center where the boy was pronounced dead at 12:40 a.m.

Police said Raskowsky was traveling south when she drove off the left side of the road for an unknown reason.

Raskowsky drove about 240 feet through a pasture field before striking the two victims.

Raskowsky was charged with DUI and later released to family, police said.

Additional charges are pending, according to police.

Rife was treated for moderate injuries following the accident.
